Mitchell – 96 Hours Earlier (Unfinished)

“Miss Wednesday, it’s a pleasure to see you, as always.” I smiled at her as I walked with her to the other side of the table.
“Mister Blacksmith.” She nodded her head and curtsied a bit as I pulled her chair out. She stepped in front and sat as I slid her chair underneath. Not exactly the kind of couresies people expected to see at an Asian syle cafe, but I enjoyed being chivalrous.
“How have you been, Maria? It’s been a little while since I saw you.” I moved around the table and sat across from her, placing my arms on the table and leaning forward.
Maria set her purse on the table. “I’ve been doing just fine. Keeping busy with this contract and all that. You know how it is.” She leaned back into her chair, placing her hands on the table.
“And I trust the group is treating you well?” I smiled again and shifted a bit in my seat.
“You know they are. As well as they can, at least.”
“Shall I go order you a beverage?” I sat up straight, preparing to stand. I knew her answer already.
“The usual. Oh, and a glass of water. I need to take my medication.” I smirked as she reached into her purse and pulled out a pill bottle.
“As you wish.” I stood up and made my way to the counter.
